I’ve been watching !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! since it listed, knowing that it would go close to or over six figures. Still I love it.

It’s a beautiful car but “cut springs to lower the ride height” seems very out of place in the description for an otherwise great car. I get it that a car of this vintage doesn’t have the aftermarket options available to a recent car, but geez...

You actually can.
I’d be surprised if there weren’t other BMW springs that fit these too. There’s a fair amount of interchangeability across BMW supsensions.

Well it’s even more questionable to have done it that way then. :) I grew up in rural Missouri, so I’ve seen a lot of...we’ll say questionable...methods used to mod cars. And I get it - if you’re dealing with a ‘75 Chevy pickup (or something else they made a million copies of) and not a lot of money, you might cut some corners (or some springs) and just accept the fact that it wasn’t the right way, but it mostly works. But on something like this Bimmer, it just seems like a Really Bad Choice™ .

I had a *rough* 73 Bavaria and although I never cut the springs, I did remove all four 2" strut top spacers. These cars sat very high stock to meet US safety requirements. This drastically improved the look.

76.5 k, NP! I wonder if it went for a tad less because it’s located in Canada and not the US (Californiaaaaaa)

You can upgrade the shocks and springs in the E9 fairly easily.
